Our site is meant as a metaphorical rendezvous / meeting point for those who want to meet and experience the atmosphere of the former Dutch East-Indies – the Dutch period in Indonesia – somehow or other. Our site articles have often an architectural flavour. This flavour is presented by showing many old and recent pictures of Dutch East-Indian colonial locations in Indonesia with explaining texts. |

Our chief purpose and ideal is to develop a site which could serve as a figurative meeting place with the living colonial past of The Netherlands. That means that the visitor can chance topics from Indonesian and Dutch colonial history as well as Dutch political, military, economic, social, architectural and artistic achievements. Moreover: our site handles also subjects connected with our main subject – the Dutch period in Indonesia - such as the Dutch past in Africa. |
