Corporal Rejan, from the Kai-islands in the Banda Sea, is one of the many native Indonesians in the Dutch colonial army.

Natives - Ambonese, Menadonese, Kai as well as Javanese - were the backbone of this fighting force.
They followed their officers bravely without hesitation.

The articles have the aim to treat fascinating but unknown items about Dutch colonial military history.
